Room noise in a recording is one of the worst things to deal with. The more compression you add, the more it comes up, making it really difficult to mix. Universal Audio just released C-Suite C-Vox. It is aimed to reduce room sounds in a recording, and it works very, very well.
I usually use SPL De-Verb or RX8 Dialog De-verb and get decent results. However, with the touch of a few knobs, this plug seems to do what those do but much better.
