I tend to switch plugins up on my mix-bus quite a bit. There are a couple of reasons for doing this.

  1. New plugins are always coming out and I like to try out new things to see if it makes my process better.
  2. I mix a lot of different styles of music. On any given day I might mix an acoustic rock song in the morning and a heavy trap hip-hop song that afternoon.

One day I wanted to A/B two different processes and decided maybe I should just make two mix-buses. Once set up in your template, you can pick which process sounds better. It’s a great way to find out what will work best in a song.
