Softube’s console 1 is a hardware unit that controls plugins in your DAW. It has three different channel strips and you can use select Softube and UAD plug-ins with it.

I was on a search for a way to control my plug-ins by hand. After trying three or four different options, Softube’s console 1 seems to be the ultimate fit for me.

I love how intuitive it is and the ability to reach down and change the EQ, compressor, or gate is so easy.

The way I use it is by putting it on every channel when I begin a mix. I tend to use the SSL 4000 plugin when I’m mixing Rock or music with aggressive guitars. If I’m mixing Hip-Hop or R&B, I use the SSL XL 9000 K-Series but I change the gate to the 4000 version. For some reason, I like the 4000 gate better. I also turn up the drive to 3 or 4, just to get a bit more saturation on each channel.

I’ve had a few questions from some of you about how I use Softube’s Console 1. So I thought it would be helpful to make a video showing you how I use it on a daily basis. Also, check out my post about why I sold the Slate Raven and bought the console 1. I hope this video helps you guys and let me know if you have any questions.
