Making a mono instrument stereo can help add new dimensions to any song. It can be guitars, keyboards or even percussion instruments. In mastering a common technique is to widen the side information to make the overall mix sound bigger and larger than life. Two of my favorite plugins for doing this is are Plugin Alliance’s Stereomaker and UAD’s Precision K-Stereo Plugin. I use the Stereomaker for mixing and the K-Stereo for mastering. In the video below I will go over how I use both of them.
