When presenting your music  you want to make sure it sounds the best it can. One of the main concerns is to make sure that the volume is the same. I highly recommended you get this done by a professional mastering engineer, but if you can’t afford it or don’t have the time, you can do your own demo master by using a limiter.

The best way to to this is to line up all your songs in your DAW in the order you want them to be heard. Try to find the song that is the loudest, and use that as your main reference. Next, listen to 30 seconds of the end of song 1 going into song 2. If song two is louder bring it down a few db, and if it’s softer you can use the limiter to bring it up a few db. Go through every song like this until they are all the same volume. After that skip around from song 1 to song 6 and make sure they are the same level. A level meter can help with this, but you want to use your ears as the final judge.

Check out the video below to see how you can use a limiter to bring up the overall volume up.
